Hello, I'm Katie the face (and feet!) behind Tootsies.

When training as a complimentary therapist I quickly realised reflexology was the treatment for me. It helped me manage my ongoing health conditions and gave me the pleasure of helping my Mum having been diagnosed with cancer. Helping my Mum was the primary reason for learning more about complimentary therapies as they gave Mum such relief and lifted her spirit.

I'm based in the lovely village of Little Bytham, take a pretty drive through the country and enjoy the benefits of free parking. Working from my home helps me provide a relaxed environment for your treatment. I also offer mobile appointments which can conveniently be located in your own home if that suits you best!

I'm a proud member of the AOR enabling me to keep up to date with the latest research and practices in reflexology. I have taken further courses in maternity reflexology and menopause reflexology with Sally Earlham ensuring I can provide you with tailored treatments depending on your needs. Being a member of the AOR also enables to be on the NHS register for reflexology.

I have recently trained with Ziggy Bergman in facial reflexology which is a wonderfully relaxing treatment you will love!

Alongside complimentary therapies I have also worked as an early years teacher and SENco which has been invaluable training when working with babies and children who have benefited from the support of reflexology.

Many people don’t realise their workplace health cash plan may include reflexology so if you’re not sure now’s the time!!!

If you do have a cash plan you could be able to claim back part or all of your treatment cost. Check with the provider what you’re able to access, it’s a great way to make well-being feel more accessible.

As a very happy member of the @aorreflexology I’m able to help provide a receipt for your treatment. Most providers require your reflexologist to be a member of a recognised professional body. This means treatments are carried out by fully insured, qualified practitioners.

I’m officially starting my Christmas break today. The Christmas lego train is waiting to be made with my boy, alongside watching Micracle on 34th street, the slowing down is beginning ☺️

What’s better than 60 minutes of reflexology?

Yes you’ve got it, it’s 90 minutes of reflexology!!!

My ‘relax and unwind’ 90 minute treatment is a favourite choice at the moment. It’s a pick ‘n’ mix treatment choosing between your favoured reflexology.

If you know you like foot reflexology and fancy trying facial reflexology this is a perfect way to have a sample of a different type of reflexology. You could even add a touch of Indian head massage.

The 90 minutes gives your body and mind a chance to sink into deep relaxation.

Well August has done a Houdini! Lovely to be able to have a look back at the highlights as it’s always a juggle during the summer months.

1-2 We did proper camping @ruralrelaxing,

3 Woody is still trying to be an aquatic Olympian but has just ended up with an ear infection!

4/5 celebrated my lovely sister’s birthday @roarr_dinosauradventure and on the beach.

6- Channelled my inner Tom Cruise climbing

7 Loved a trip down memory lane at my childhood park

8 We had another bash at magnet fishing (it’s genuinely a thing 😂) we’re not millionaires but we did get a tea cup 🤭

This week has been mainly about the mammas!

It started off with helping big feet not little feet @minifest (the little feet were wedded to their wellies!)

It is always a delight to help new mums and pregnant mums take a moment for themselves to really relax. The benefits for helping the body to relax boosts those vital oxytocin levels which are so key for the body and mind.

Reflexology is a gentle, supportive therapy that can offer a host of benefits during pregnancy and postnatally.

It’s flipping tricky to find the time I know when you have a new little baby, so I always welcome baby to come along to sessions and more than happy to share reflex points for baby too.

Well that’s my first little festival complete!

A huge thank you @minifest_uk for a cracking weekend.

It was a such a lovely event to be a part of despite the weather not playing ball!
Where else would I find myself doing facial reflexology with Elphaba belting out defying gravity at the same time!

It was joyous watching children in full party gear seeking out Princesses and dinosaurs whilst being oblivious to the weather!

Shout out to all the fellow stall holders who I managed to catch up with 😍 and a
heartfelt thank you to the incredible festival organisers Danni and Olivia who clearly worked so hard to deliver an amazing and unique event! You’re continual efforts to adapt and keep these going despite the weather were fully appreciated😍

Having been an early years and Sen teacher this is definitely where my tribe is! Obviously, I don’t have favourite clients but who can’t resist a little pair of baby feet or toddler tootsies for reflexology.

I’ll be offering mini reflexology sessions for the feet, hands or face or Indian head massages to help party goers unwind, recharge, and get ready for whatever’s next at the fabulous Minifest.

Do you want some handy tips!!! (Sorry for the naff pun ☺️)

This video is speeded up a little to help anyone who has the same attention span as me 🤣.

One thing I keep hearing are complaints about hay fever this year. So here’s a little video I hope can help, it focuses on the sinuses, ears, eyes and brain reflex points to give a little relief. There are more reflex points that can be worked on in a full session of reflexology 👣

I’m always having a mare with my sinuses and will frequently do this mini routine when out and about.

Yes meeee! I am now so chuffed to be offering Indian head massage as part of my treatment menu. It’s a lovely flexible treatment that works so well alongside reflexology or as a stand alone treatment.

Choose between sitting or lying down for the treatment. They’re both lovely but focus on different areas of the body so you can choose what would suit you more.

Creating a warm and welcoming space for children

I love to welcome children to my setting or happily visit children in their own home or setting for appointments. When preparing for children’s appointments I always like to make them feel at their most comfortable.

If I can I’ll incorporate their interests so they can link with something they feel connected to. Today, my client loves cuddlies, animals and pandas, what’s not to love!

It’s all about fostering a positive and relaxed experience for children while making their visit as easy as possible for parents.

I’m loving delving deeper into the world of lymphatic drainage at the moment!

Facial reflexology is known for its benefits with helping circulation and lymphatic drainage but I thought why not take it a little further and add some gua sha moves for extra measure to my treatments 😀

I’m also polishing my Indian head massage routine ready soon as a stand alone treatment or to add to any reflexology routine. It works so nicely combined with facial reflexology.

Did you know of the many benefits of reflexology for children and babies? It’s such a gentle, and natural way to support them and nurture their emotional wellbeing. It’s also an easy way to create comforting routines at home or a childcare setting.

This week I had the absolute pleasure of sharing reflexology with the @casterton_nursery children and staff. Jo invited me along to talk about reflexology and show how relaxing it can be for little ones. The children embraced the opportunity to have a mini treatment from me or practise on each other. It was so lovely to see how at ease they were with helping each other to relax and try something completely new, they were all aware of how important it is to relax and look after ourselves. How empowering to begin to foster this at such a young age!!
